REVIEW | URBAN DECAY NAKED 2

I have been on a mission, kind of because I have been buying a few eye shadow palettes, the main reason its easier to have in my makeup kit when I have makeup jobs that having single eye shadows. I am a bit late to jump onto the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, that is because UD just launched in Hong Kong and I didnt have any other way of getting until I went to Singapore and popped into Sephora. For some reason out of the palettes this was the one that caught my eye and so I just had to get it. The UD Naked 2 costs HK$500 which is a bit for a palette but I just loved it that I bought it without thinking twice.

As you all know the packaging is very lovely and gives luxurious feel to it. The packaging as much as its nice is very hardy and that comes in handy specially when I am on the go so that the eye shadows wont crack or break. As an added bonus you get a double ended UD makeup brush as well, so that's like a little treat. The best part the brush is actually really good and I use it on myself. The bristles are super soft and easy to blend the eye shadows. There is a big mirror which is very handy as I use it mainly to show my clients their makeup just in case they don't have a mirror close by when i am doing their makeup.

The palette comes with 12 different eye shadows with a mix of shimmer and matte eye shadows. The palette has very earthy and neutral eye shadows. These are the shades that I wear the most on my eyes and I think that was the reason that it caught my eye. You can create so many different makeup looks be it a day or night makeup very versatile and I love that about this palette. The matte eye shadows Foxy, Booty Call and Tease are not as pigmented on my skin tone but it would show up a lighter skin tone so I use them as a base to set my eye primer and some times as a highlight shade under my brow bone. My favourite out of the whole lot of eye shadows are Half Baked, Snake Bite and Suspect, these are the sort of eye shadow colours I most reach for as they suit my skin tone the best. I love that it has a black eye shadow so I can create a smokey eye if I wanted to.

The eye shadows have very minimum fall off when applying them onto your eyelids. They are however very pigmented and smooth as butter with a creamy texture and even the matte shades have a slightly  smooth feeling to them. Easy to apply and blend and you don't need to pack the eye shadow onto the eyelids for the true colour to show up. The wear time for me when I apply an eye primer onto my eyelids I get about 4-5 hours before slight creasing starts appearing but if I don't apply a primer then it lasts about 3-4 hours even if the quality is really good because my eyelids are very oily. If you have normal eyelids (lucky you) then you have nothing to worry it'll last long enough.

I have been using this palette quite a bit and my clients have been asking me to use colours from this palette as well so it definitely worth the investment. A variety of different shades in the palettes helps you create different makeup looks and you have eye shadows that you can use to create a smokey eye as well. Overall a lovely eye shadow palette and I have been enjoying it that I recently bought the Naked 3 as well now all I need is to get the other two and my collection is complete.

I am sure you have the UD Naked 2 by now, but since I am a newbie to UD what do you think of this palette? Have you collected any of the other UD Naked eye shadow Palettes? Let know what you think in the comment box below.

  4. Thank you for sharing! I love naked palettes because they're sooo good, even if they cost a lot. But they are very long lasting, so I think it is quite a good compromise.
