MY BASIC MAKEUP MUST-HAVES

I am a minimal makeup kind of gal, I know very contradictory to what I do being a makeup artist. It can get quite humid here in Hong Kong that sometimes you don't even feel like stepping outside so imagine going out with a full face of makeup. Within a few hours I will be a melting piece of cake and that is something I would like to avoid. However there are days that I do get dressed up like date night or a night out with friends. So today I thought I will share my basic must-haves when it comes to getting ready on regular basis. I have different routines depending if its summer or winter and so I am going to share with you what I usually use to make my face look pretty.

MY BASIC MAKEUP MUST-HAVES

Let me start with the basics and how I do my makeup during the day time, a minimal simple look that isn't too over the top. I do love bold lips no matter the season.

DAY MAKEUP

I always keep it simple but wear a bold lip to add some colour to the whole look. My essentials for a day look are always a pressed powder, concealer, Setting powder for the concealer, blush, brow pencils for the brows, eyeliner for the water line and liquid eyeliner for the top, mascara and a dark lipstick (depending on what I feel like wearing that day).

A few of my go to products for a day makeup are the NYX HD Concealer or the Jordana Stick concealer, My pressed powder at the moment is the MAC Careblend Pressed Powder, The setting powder for my concealer has been the Kryolan TL5, My brow pencils have been between the VDL Brow Pencil and Etude House Brow Pencil, My go to pencil for the waterline has been the Clio Gelpresso and as the liquid liner I have been using a Meilin Eyeliner which is a Taiwan brand that is available here in Hong Kong.

NIGHT MAKEUP

When it comes to getting ready for a night out, I like to change things up a bit if not its just boring wearing the same makeup all the time. I do try to go all out not too over the top.

My night makeup is much heavier, you could say I do a full face makeup look. My essentials for a night look are always a liquid foundation, tinted moisturizer or a BB cream (depending on the weather), concealer, Setting powder for the concealer, blush, brow pencil for the brows, eyeliner for the water line and liquid eyeliner for the top, mascara, eye shadow depends on my outfit and occasion and a dark lipstick.

A few of my go to products for a night makeup are the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation or the L'oreal True Match Foundation NYX HD Concealer, The setting powder for my concealer has been the Kryolan TL5 I love this it makes the concealer last all day, My brow pencils have been between the VDL Brow Pencil and Etude House Brow Pencil, My go to pencil for the waterline has been the Clio Gelpresso as it lasts all night and doesn't smudge, as the liquid liner I have been using a Meilin Eyeliner which is a Taiwan brand that is available here in Hong Kong, its thick and lasts long enough.

Not too complicated just how I like to keep my makeup routine. I don't highlight or contour on a daily basis unless I really have to like of its a big party or function. Simple is how I like it, I know being a makeup artist I should be always dressed up but here in Hong Kong the weather is more tropical so having a full face of makeup can be quite unpleasant. The heat tends to make the makeup melt a bit so I like to keep it to a minimal.

How is my day and night makeup routine? I am sure it must be very different to yours. What do you think, is it too simple or complicated? Let me know what you think in the comment box below.
