REVIEW | PUPA DUO EYE SHADOW PALETTE

As a makeup artist I have to keep trying new makeup so I have the very best products to use on my clients. As much as I like a bit more high-end products, I also like trying new brands that are available on the high-street. Pupa is exactly one of those brands. Its an Italian makeup brand and I love their eye shadows, lipsticks and nail polish. If you live in Hong Kong you can buy Pupa from any SASA outlet. It cost me around HK$100 if I am not mistaken, sorry I cant remember exactly how much. This time I bought the Pupa Duo Eye Shadow Palette, unfortunately it doesn't have a name but just a number and it was 001, here is the never version called Vamp. We don't have the never version yet in Hong Kong.

Lets start with the packaging, its very sleek and chic if I must say and is the perfect size for travel. There is a small mirror which is always handy. It did come with a small eye shadow brush and I think it fell off. I never use those because I can never apply eye shadow with it. The eye shadows have a slight shimmer effect to them. They are very soft and creamy and have a satin finish to them. I love the colour combination and that was the reason I bought it. The colours appealed to me, the orange brown shades are perfect for a simple yet elegant eye makeup.

I mainly wear this eye shadow in the day time and I sometimes use the brown shade for a smokey look if its for a smokey eye. The eye shadows have quite a good colour pay off, being a high-street brand. I did however notice that on my skin tone the shades can be a little washed out and that was the reason to wear it more in the day time as it was more toned down. the eye shadows are very easy to blend and glide over the eye lids with ease. you can build the intensity with these eye shadows so don't be turned off by the low colour pay off. There is quite a bit of excess fall out when applying these eye shadows so I always finish my eye makeup and then apply my foundation, when ever I use this eye shadow palette, so be careful and dust off any excess before starting the makeup. I have to start by saying that I have very oily eye lids and eye shadows no matter the quality don't last that long on my eye lids, so whenever I don't use an eye primer I got about 3 hours the maximum wear time out of these eye shadows before slight creasing started appearing. However when I did wear an eye primer I was able to get about 5-6 hours of wear time (which is good for me) before I noticed some slight creasing. Thinking about it the wear time isn't exactly great but I was able to create the most beautiful eye makeup for the day time, that was simple and me.

A lovely inexpensive eye shadow palette with a great colour combination and that lasts relatively well enough given that its not a high-end brand. The eye shadows go on smoothly and are easy to blend and easy to create a lovely a eye makeup. They have a few more different colour combinations that I want to try out after using this palette. Definitely worth checking this brand out even though a lot of you wont know this brand.

Have you ever heard of Pupa? Have you tried their eye shadows? Let me know what you think in the comment box below.
