I love makeup and as a makeup artist and blogger I love trying new makeup and testing them out. There is nothing that makes me happy like going makeup shopping and buying new makeup. As usual I was out doing some shopping and I was wanting a light base as summer was just about to start that I came across the NYX Tinted Moisturizer in Almond and I just had to buy it and give it ago. I bought it from the NYX counters here in Hong Kong, I cant really remember how much it cost but not that expensive, very affordable.

I bought the shade almond which was the darkest have. It can be quite frustrating because Hong Kong is quite multicultural, so you do get a few different skin tones, yet when it comes to foundations they only have lighter shades so its quite difficult to find a shade that suits my skin tone. The packaging isn't much, just like any other tinted moisturiser comes in a squeeze type tube.

The tinted moisturizer has a soft and creamy texture with a dewy finish to it. The coverage I would say is medium coverage. You will be able to get a matte finish if you set it with a finishing powder if you don't like the dewy finish. The shade is a good match for my skin tone even though in the picture it looks a bit darker. The tinted moisturizer is easy to apply and blends easily into the skin. You can either use a brush, sponge or your hands but I prefer to use a brush as the coverage is much better and you get a flawless finish. Pimples, dark circles are scars will not be completely covered up so you will need to use a concealer on top of it. It didn't start flaking or look blotchy and neither did it enhance the dry patches I have on my cheeks. As it does have an element of hydration I presume that was what kept it from clinging onto the dry patches, so if you have dry skin I would say that you can give this a try.

The best part of it for me was that it didn't feel heavy on the face and that it did give a moderate level of coverage. Usually tinted moisturizer can be very light and feels like a moisturizer with a bit of colour once you have applied it with no coverage, luckily this didn't disappoint in that sense. The wear time I would say was relatively quite good, I got between 4-5 hours but during summer it was around 3-4 hours I would say before I noticed any shine on my t-zone.

Overall a nice and light base, with a moderate coverage that will get you through a night. I would highly recommend that you give this a try if you prefer lighter bases as your foundation. Its ideal for the summer when you don't feel like wearing a lot of makeup but need a bit of coverage.

Have you tried a tinted moisturizer? Did you like the NYX Tinted Moisturizer? Let me know what you think in the comment box below.
