REVIEW | NYX POWDER FOUNDATION

I have mentioned so many times before that I love powder foundations and use them quite a bit in the summer. Having oily skin can makeup wearing liquid products a bit tedious and it lasts long and touching up can be tricky but with powder foundations is easier as touch ups are easy and fast. I have been wanting a powder foundation that will give me a matte look as I was going on holiday to a tropical country for a wedding on the beach. This screams makeup disaster so I needed one that will help me get a matte look for longer and that is why I bought the NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation.

The packaging is lovely and quite travel friendly I must say. I bought here in Hong Kong from the NYX HK counter for around HK$180-200 if I am not mistaken. I bought the shade Cinnamon Spice and its a good match for my skin tone. The compact powder has a mirror so perfect for on the go touch ups.

The texture of the powder is very satin like and smooth with a matte finish (obviously that's what the name suggests). It is however quite powdery and you will need to tap off the excess a bit when applying it on to your face. It blends well over moisturizer and gives a clear, smooth and even finish to your complexion. Not too heavy and doesn't feel cakey even after a few touch ups. I use it alone as well as with a foundation and in both times it did give a matte look for about 5-6 hours which is quite good for me.

Overall a lovely inexpensive powder that I love using to achieve a matte look. If you have dry to normal skin I would say to be a bit careful it might tend to cling on to your dry patches. Light weight and doesn't make your makeup look heavy or patchy after a few touch ups. This definitely gets a thumbs up from me and you should give it a try if you have oily skin like me.

What do you think if the NYX Powder Foundation? Have you tried it? Let me know what you think in the comment box below.
