FACE OF THE DAY | DULL GOLD MAKEUP LOOK

Brown and gold eye shadows are always my go to when ever I have to create a makeup look for myself. I always prefer more neutral and earthy toned eye shadow. I am not the very adventurous type and tend to stick with colours I am used to know so I can create a look I know I will be happy with in the end. Today as my FOTD, I have a makeup look I created with a dull gold eye shadow.

Dressing up and going out is my all time favourite things and playing with eye shadow is even more awesome. I love neutral and gold eye shadows as these shades look the best on my skin tone. So today's look is a dull gold makeup look that I created for a night out.

BASE

I used the The Body Shop BB Cream and the CCUK Liquid Matte Foundation. I mixed the two to get the perfect shade as well as a medium coverage. This way its not too heavy and I also get a matte finish. As it is summer here that is the best finish for my skin type. For my dark circles I used the NYX Dark Circle Corrector and on top of that I used the NYX HD Photogenic Concealer. I set the concealer with the Bobbi Brown Pale Yellow Powder that comes in the creamy concealer kit. I set the foundation with the MAC Careblend Pressed. This gives me a matte finish and I prefer matte finishes.

EYES

I used my MAC Paint Pot in Layin'n Low as a base as it makes the eye shadow last all day long. I then used the NYX Parisian Chic as its more of a neutral/natural eye shadow palette. Since that was the look I wanted it was perfect. For the outer corners I used The A La Mode palette also from NYX. The mascara was the Maybelline Volume Express hyper Curl. The Liquid liner was the Kate Spider Liner Liquid Pen. For the waterline I used the MAC Feline Kohl Pencil.

BROWS

I used the MAC brow pencil in Spike and to set everything in place the MAC prolong wear brow set in Brown Ebony. This makes for the best long lasting brows.

CHEEKS

I used the Wet n Wild blusher in Berry Shimmer

LIPS

For my lips I always prefer bolder lips and on this occasion I used the Revlon Black Cherry as its the perfect plum and completes my whole look. It lasts all day long and is matte so it wont rub off that easily.

  1. Love the eyeshadow. I stopped using one as I always struggled to apply it correctly. It creased too soon.
