REAL TECHNIQUES STARTER SET
The set has 5 amazing makeup brushes and comes with a case that you can carry your brushes in and you can use it as a stand as well. Unfortunately I cant find mine and think I misplaced it when I was moving houses. The set consists of a Deluxe Crease Brush, Base Shadow Brush, Accent Brush, Fine Liner Brush, Brow Brush. The best part about these brushes is that they have multiple uses for them and not just for what they are supposed to do.
L to R: Deluxe Crease Brush, Base Shadow Brush, Accent Brush, Fine Liner Brush, Brow Brush
DELUXE CREASE BRUSH
This brush is the Deluxe Crease Brush and this is the biggest brush from the set but the one I love the most and my favourite out of all five brushes. The bristles are super soft and made from hand cut synthetic taklon bristles. This brush fits perfectly in your crease and blends the eye shadow and harsh lines with ease. I personally prefer to use it as a concealer brush instead of using it as a crease brush. The round shape of the brush makes it perfect for using under the eyes to blend the cleaner and it even fits around your nose. The concealer blends with ease and doesn't streak at all. You can achieve a flawless, almost like an air brushed effect when you use it as a concealer brush.
BASE SHADOW BRUSH
This brush is the Base Shadow Brush and is a very flat brush. The bristles are super soft and made from hand cut synthetic taklon bristles. The brush is actually for applying your eye shadow onto your eye lids and is perfect for pressing your eye shadow onto your lids and is perfect for pressing your eye shadow pigments. I actually like using it as a blending brush because the bristles are so soft that it blends the eye shadow and gets rid of any harsh line with ease. You can even use it as a crease brush as its flat and actually fits much better in your crease that the Deluxe Crease Brush. Either way you have multiple uses for this brush and wont disappoint.
The Accent Brush is a small, round makeup brush that is ideal for applying your eye shadow on your lower lash line and smudging the eye shadow to create the smokey effect. The bristles are super soft and made from hand cut synthetic taklon bristles. I have never used it for that purpose but use it as a concealer brush, specifically as a spot concealing brush. As it is a small brush its ideal for this as you can conceal just the spot. You can keep packing the concealer till the blemish or scar is totally invisible. You can even use this brush to apply a highlighter in the tear-duct area and just under the brow bone.
FINE LINER BRUSH
The fine liner brush is quite sturdy and is perfect for achieving a flawless liner and flick. The bristles are super soft and made from hand cut synthetic taklon bristles. The fine liner brush is easy to use with gel liner and I have always had issues with gel liner and as the bristles are sturdy it makes drawing a think eye liner so much easier and achieving that flick is a breeze. If you like you can even use to line your lips with your lipstick in case you don't have a lip liner on you.
The final brush in the set is the brow brush. A sturdy brush that makes grooming your brows simple. The bristles are super soft and made from hand cut synthetic taklon bristles. I never used brow powder to fill my brows until I came across this brush. You can achieve a perfect outline and fill the brows to perfection. I love using this on my clients as well as I can achieve the perfect brow. The slat in perfect for achieving the perfect arch. I also use it as an eye liner brush with gel eye line. You get right to the lash line so that there wont be any gaps. Achieving the flick is easy as well. You can also use it to line the lower lash line wither with eye shadow a gel eye liner.
The makeup brushes are easy to wash and they dry incredibly fast which is awesome. I think this starter set is more than enough to create a perfect eye makeup and since it comes with a case its perfect to travel with it as well. All in all a perfect set of brushes to start off with and to add to your makeup collection. I have a few of this set and want to get a few more to add to my ever growing collection. I definitely recommend this specially if your just starting out in makeup or even a pro. Either way its very useful and you get quality makeup brushes for a reasonable price.
