REVIEW | NEUTROGENA HYDRO BOOST ESSENCE

Oily skin also means that there isn't much moisture and that the skin is over producing oil to compensate for the lack of it, so I have been introducing a bit of extra moisture into my skincare routine with skincare that will keep my skin well moisturized. One of the products that I have added newly is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Essence. I bought it from Bonjour here in Hong Kong for around HK$130 if I remember correctly as most of the time they have offers.

This essence is from the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Skincare Range which is supposed to give intense hydration for dry skin. I however do have a time period where my skin gets dry in certain patches so that's why I decided to give this a try. The essence comes in a very practical packaging where you have a pump to dispense the product. This way you control how much of the product you take out and want. The packing itself is actually quite nice and quite travel friendly I must say.

The essence is water based and penetrates deep into your skin to keep it hydrated. Its very light and has a very liquid texture but not too runny. Once you have applied it on to your skin, it does get absorbed into the skin relatively fast but you will need to wait about 30 seconds before applying your moisturizer. One pump is more than enough for the whole face so remember a little goes along way.

I have been applying the essence in the night and I have not been applying a moisturizer. I did notice that the next day when I woke up my skin was shine free, less oilier than usual and looked so much better, as in much plumper and awake. If I used a moisturizer it didn't work out the same, my skin was a bit oily looking in the morning like it usually does. The plus side was that whenever I used this I noticed that my skin was less oilier as well throughout the day. My dry patches that I was experience during the colder months was gone as well and my skin looked smoother and to be honest quite healthy. Overall I was very pleased that it worked for my because its darked for dry skin.

If like me you have oily skin and a few dry patches I suggest you give this ago as it will help you control your oiliness and reduce the dryness. Its inexpensive and will make your skin looking healthier and plumper.

Have you tried the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Essence? What did you think? Let me know what you think in the comment box below.
