REVIEW | KRYOLAN PAINT STICK FOUNDATION

Kryolan is a very popular brand and they make foundation and a lot of other makeup for TV, Stage and Theatre. Back home Kryolan is used even as makeup for brides and brides maids as well and when I was a stewardess and when we were given our basic training for grooming we were told to use Kryolan, so I was used to using it. I had stopped using it for awhile and thought I should just start using it again to check it out and see how they are. I got someone to get them for me from back home and cost around $25 I would say and I got the shades 11W and Chinese. If you live in Hong Kong you can buy it from May's and cost HK$268

11W

This shade is a deeper brown with red under tone to it and is a bit darker than my skin tone.

Chinese

This shade is a sand shade with a yellow under tone to it and which is obviously much lighter than my skin tone.

I usually mix these two shades and make the perfect shade that matches my skin tone. As I have a yellow skin tone the Chinese actually matches neutralizes the uneven skin tones on my skin which I actually really like.

Both of the TV paint sticks come with the twist up tube packaging and quite travel friendly I must say. I usually scoop up a bit of 11W and Chinese and mix it on the back of my palm and use a flat top kabuki brush to blend the foundation into the skin. My favourite foundation brush is the Sigma F80 as it makes the foundation smooth and gives a flawless overall look to it. It does feel a bit heavy on the skin so I use just the right amount and don't load my face with a lot of the product. It doesn't make the foundation look cakey though which is always a good thing.

As usual stick foundations give a dewy finish and so does the Kryolan Stick Foundations. The foundation does give a full coverage and you will only need to use very little or sometimes no concealer depending on your skin texture. I normally get about 3 to 4 hours of wear time before my skin starts getting shiny in the t-zone area. I do usually set my makeup with a setting powder but even then it does get oily and mainly with stick foundation. As I have very few foundations that suit my skin tone here in Hong Kong I use this if I need a lot of coverage.

Overall I would say a good foundation and bit on the heavier side. If you have dry skin i would say that this would be better suited for your skin type. However if you want a heavier coverage then this would be ideal as well. So either way depending on your requirement I would recommend this as it is a good foundation and has wide range of shades to choose from.

Have you use Kroylan makeup? Have you used their Paint Sticks before? Let me know what you think in the comment box below.
