RECENT BEAUTY PURCHASES #2

Over the last two months I would say I had bought a few makeup items and thought I would share them. There is nothing like going and shopping for makeup, I love it and it is quite therapeutic I must say. I did another haul as well a few months ago which you can read HERE if you want.

BEAUTY HAUL #2

NYX Tinted Moisturizer

In Hong Kong it is absolutely difficult to find foundations that would suit my skin tone, they tend to favour the lighter skin tones so it can be quite frustration. However when I do find one I will not think twice before I buy and this is exactly what happened when I was shown the NYX Tinted Moisturizer in the shade Almond by the sales person at the counter. It is a perfect match to my skin tone. The tinted moisturizer is light weight and very smooth on the skin. I will do a full review soon.

NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation

I was going on holiday and  needed to find a powder that would help me keep my skin matte for longer as I was going back home and it was going to humid and very hot. I was going back for a wedding which was going to be on the beach so I needed all the help I could get. That was when I saw the NYX Powder Foundation in Cinnamon Spice. You can wear it alone or even use it to set your foundation and I must say it did keep my makeup looking matte for longer and I was really happy. It lasted about 4-5 hours even though it was hot and humid. A full review will come up soon.

EcoTools Retractable Kabuki Brush

I have been wanting to get a makeup brush to keep in my makeup pouch and came across the EcoTools Retractable Kabuki Brush. It is perfect as it doesn't take a lot space and is very compact. The brush is absolutely soft and my powder foundations go on absolutely smoothly. I love it and want to get another one as well.

NYX Blush

I got the powder in Bordeaux, it is a deep plum colour and is absolutely lovely. I love it as I am a bit darker this colour looks really nice and shows well on the cheeks. You can wear it even in the day time using a light hand to apply the foundation. A full review will be up soon.

MAC Pro Longwear Pain Pot

I shade Layin'low which is nude or skin tone colour. Perfect to use as a base as it wont change the colour of the shadow and can even cover up dark circles. The best part is it the best eye primer that I have ever used and it makes the eye shadow last long without creasing and believe me when I say that it amazing because I have extremely oily eye lids. Even after about 4 hours my eye shadow didn't crease so this is my go to at the moment. A full review will be up soon.

MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush

I bought the shade Peachykeen which is peach toned blush with shimmer to it. Peach toned blushers look really good one my skin and this is perfect for the day time. You need to use a light hand when applying but if you want to use it in the night a heavier hand can be used. It gives a subtle glow to the cheeks and is perfect for the day time.

MAC Studio Careblend Pressed Powder

The shade I got was Dark Deep and I bought to use it to set my foundation as well as to use it as a base on those hot and humid days. As my skin gets oilier I prefer to use light bases and the best are the pressed powders. The powder is very light and doesn't feel heavy on the skin neither does it cake up the foundation. I will be doing a full review soon.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish

I bought the shade Dark Deepest and use it to set my foundation and I also use it alone as well as a base. I did notice that it makes the skin a bit oilier but I like the finish it gives. A very soft and smooth look to the makeup. I use it mainly during winter as my skin doesn't get that oily during the colder months. I will do a review soon on the blog.

So that's my little haul that I have been collecting, I hope there is at least one thing that you have been wanting to get and hope my little reviews helped.

What have you been shopping lately? Let me know in the comment box below.

  4. Great blog post. I love the Mac blush! I'm always trying their different shades, however I've just recently purchased one from local drugstore to see what the difference is.

    1. Thank you. I know exactly what you mean but some time they can be a costly habit. Drugstore blushes are really good as well but it depends on the brand.
