REVIEW | RIMMEL STAY MATTE PRESSED POWDER

I know I am a bit late when it comes to the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder, the fact that this powder would have been reviewed so many times over and over and you must be tired of seeing the same review again but I thought I will share my experience as it can be hard find The brand Rimmel here in Hong Kong. I bought the colour Transparent and got it from Boots for £3.99 if I am not mistaken when I was there last. If you live in Hong Kong I know that a place called Dudes and UK2HK have a few stuff from Rimmel so you can try them out.

I have a craze when it comes to face powders as I have oily skin and I have to have to always wear a setting powder if not my skin get very greasy and my makeup wont last that long. So I am always on the look out for one that will help me keep my makeup looking matte for longer. This was one the first transparent/colourless powders that I tried as I always tend to use setting powders that are geared more towards my skin tone. I myself had read so many reviews that I decided to give this a try and see if it will give a good fight to my oily T-Zone. Well it did and I must say I am glad I have this in my life. The powder will last you a long time so it worth every penny you pay and if it was more that £3.99 I would still pay for it.

The powder is soft and I would say that it quite fine to the touch. I usually swirl my powder brush about 2 times and then dust of the excess and go all over with the brush and specially on my T-Zone and it gives a very smooth and matte finishing look to your makeup. I go at least one extra round on that area just to be safe. I must I was very happy when at the end of the day there only a bit of greasy looking areas on my face so I would it lasted around 6-8 hours. That happening quite a big deal because the longest a powder has last would be 4 hours the maximum so this was heaven to me. The powder goes on very smoothly and does blend very easily. It did not make the foundation look cakey or patchy or heavy. The only thing I would say is that it did look a bit light when I first apply and then once it gets absorbed it becomes colourless. So you do need to be careful if like me you are more towards the darker skin tones. Do not use a heavy hand at first, that way you can add more if you need it.

I have worn it alone as well and it does keep the face matte for the same time period and has a smooth finish to it. It wont make the foundation look heavier if you like wearing full coverage foundation so you don't have to worry as it does blend well with foundation.

If you don't really like the matte look then you wear it just in the areas you need it or only in the T-Zone so the whole look wont look matte. Overall I would say that it is a good inexpensive setting powder that you can use everyday and specially for oily girls like me it would be a life saver.

Have you tried the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed powder? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comment box below.
