REVIEW | NYX MATTE BRONZER

Bronzing and I have never been friends and I never contour and sculpt my face when I get ready as it never seemed to appeal to me at all. How ever I know a lot of people do and enjoy it a lot. After I started my MUA course I had to learn to sculpt and contour and learn to do it on my clients so the only way that I could practice was to practice on myself. In Hong Kong I couldn't find a shade to match me so when I was in Australia I bought the NYX Matte Bronzer in Deep Tan which was the darkest shade. You can buy it from the NYX outlets in Hong Kong and it costs between HK$150-200 as I cant remember the exact price.

The matte bronzer has a very soft texture but does have a powdery effect to it and you need to be careful when applying it as there can be a bit of fall off so I would suggest you dust of the excess before you start contouring. Even though it is the darkest shade it was a bit too light but for a slight contour its fine. I would say if you are slightly a shade lighter than me it would be the perfect shade.

If you like a subtle contouring then this would be ideal as it isn't too out there and too bold so I didn't mind using it and it was a good shade to practice as I could contour and go out as well. Lasting power I would say was normal and would last around 3-4 hours on me even if I set everything with a setting powder as my skin can get quite oily.

Overall I would say it is a good budget buy but since it is quite powdery I would say to be careful when using it as there is a bit of fall off. The shade is really nice and I wish it would show more on my skin but unfortunately I have noticed that I need to use a foundation to do contouring on my skin.

Have you used the NYX matte bronzing powder before? What do you think of contouring and sculpting the face? Let me know in the comment box below

  1. I really like the texture, too bad there's some fall out but the cost justifies it a little bit. Great review! xx

    1. Yes I know but since it isn't expensive I also don't mind using it
