REVIEW | MAYBELLINE COLOR TATTOO

I know there are so many reviews of these Color Tattoos by Maybelline but I thought that I will share my experience as everyone's experience is different to each one. While I was doing my MUA course we were taught how to use eye shadow bases and one of it was to learn how to use cream shadow. Since I had read a lot of reviews before I started my blog I decided to buy the Maybelline Color Tattoos. I got the shades Bronze and Metallic Pomegranate. I bought mine from sasa but you can buy it from any Watsons and Mannings as well and cost HK$65

The Bronze shade has a creamy texture to it and a smooth finish when applied on the lids. You can wear it as a base or even wear it alone as it is very pigmented and has a lovely shimmer to it. How ever when I wore this shade as a base as well as alone I did notice that it didn't last long my eyelids even though it says 24 hours. It would have lasted around 3 hours the most, it maybe because my eye lids were very oily and the product was really creamy that it didn't agree with my eyelids. The bronze shade is actually very lovely when worn and looks lovely even when worn alone with a simple cat eye.

METALLIC POMEGRANATE

The Pomegranate shade on the other hand has a velvet finish to it gets clumpy when you try to take it out but it does however go on smoothly. You need to be careful as there can be a bit of fall off so you need to be careful. This shade was not so creamy so it lasted much longer on my eyes than the Bronze shade and my eyelids took longer to crease and lasted around 5 hours on my eyes. The pomegranate shade is a bit deeper as is perfect for a night out and to do a smokey eye.

Both color tattoos are highly pigmented and have very different textures to it and have very different effects as well on my eyes. I prefer the more velvet finish color tattoo as it lasts longer on my eyes. I don't know if it a different texture that we have here in Hong Kong but We seem to have the soft creamy texture as well as the velvet texture.

Overall these are good cream shadows and if you have drier lids it will be even better. I would highly recommend getting one if you haven't tried it out yet and they have a whole collection of different colours to choose from.

What are your thought on the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream shadows? Let me know in the comment box below.
