REVIEW | TOPSHOP METALLIC CREAM BLUSHER

As I mentioned in the previous post I found a new love for cream blushers and thought I needed to try a few more and since there have been good reviews about the beauty products by TopShop I thought I will try one of their Metallic Cream Blushers. I got the shade Aorta which was the darkest shade available from their range.

The blusher has a cream to powder texture with a metallic look to it. The Blusher has small gold specks in it but it isn't too over powering or too obvious once worn and can be worn during the day as well as the night. The packaging is pretty nice and very compact and can easily fit in most makeup pouches. Since it is quite compact it makes it very travel friendly as well. It was around HK$80 which is reasonable as you do get quite a lot of product.

Once you start applying the blusher onto your skin it does have a powder effect but nothing too bad. I did however notice that on me it was not so easy to blend, as in it didn't give me a smooth finish and the colour seemed to be a bit muted on my skin even though it is quite a dark shade and very pigmented. I had to apply the blusher with a heavy hand. The colour however is lovely and that's why I chose it but unfortunately it was not that impressive. It took time for me to blend it well and get the desired finish I wanted. It could be me but I was sad that it wasn't what I expected it to be. I didn't try to use this as a base for a powder blusher as it was quite pigmented as well as has powdery texture to it, I used it alone.

Even though this shade didn't work well for me I still do want to try the others as they do have a few nice pinks and oranges as well. I am hoping at least one will work well for me. I felt that because it had the cream to powder texture that it didn't work quite well.

I know TopShop have good beauty products with great quality but for me sadly this was one that didn't stand out. I doubt I will be repurchasing this colour again but I am intrigued to try out at least one more to see how it fairs.

Have you tried any of the TopShop Cream Blushers before? Did you get on well with it or were you disappointed like me? Let me know what you think.
