Starting the year off with a review of a wonderful lipstick by Etude House. I am sure most of you are aware of this very popular Asian brand. If you aren't its fine, it is a Korean brand that is affordable and offer quality products. The lipstick I have is from the Dear My Blooming Lips in Talk (#BE106)

I am more of someone who likes to wear darker shades when it comes to lipsticks as I feel they suit me better. Having said that this year I thought it was time to step out of my comfort zone and try a few lighter lipsticks. The Etude House lipstick in Talk is a brownish nude lipstick with a reddish undertone to it. You can buy it from any local Etude House outlet and it costs HK$88 which is a bargain for a good quality high-street lipstick.

The packaging is quite unlike anything I own, it is absolutely adorable and is in PINK colour. That was one of the main things that attracted me to it in the first place. The packaging isn't what I expected it to be, it is actually very sturdy and hardy. Basically it doesn't look too shabby for the price and was quite impressed.

The lipstick is surprising as well, I hadn't tried anything from Etude House before so didn't have high expectations but was I wrong about my initial impressions. The lipstick is absolutely lovely. It has a creamy texture to it with a shine once you have applied it. The lipstick is very pigmented and glides smoothly over the lips. My lips tend to be dry during winter so most of the time I prep the lips with a lip balm just to be safe. When I wore it with a lip balm underneath it didn't dry the lips but without a lip balm I did notice a bit of chipping on my lips. There isn't any sort of smell with the lipstick, which I know for some of you is a NO NO. With this lipstick you don't have to worry about that. The wear time on the other hand isn't too great, I got around 3 hours of wear time out of it. I know that isn't a lot but I always carry the lipstick I am wearing on that day with me so I can touch if needed through out the day.

The lipstick is a wonderful nude for my skin type as I am more on the darker side. It isn't too dark or too light but I feel is just the right colour for me. As the first nude lipstick I bought I am very pleased. I mostly wear it during the day as I don''t wear a lot of makeup and keep it simple. The colour is perfect for the look I love to wear during the day.

There are loads of colours to choose from so everyone will find something they like. Unfortunately on the website there is just a handful. If you have the opportunity to go to an outlet that would be the best as you can select from a bigger variety.

I would definitely recommend this lipstick and specially if you are like me you are a bit more towards the darker skin tone definitely give this a try. The lipstick is super soft and glides with ease and comes in a cute packaging that is pink. What more could you ask from a lipstick.

Have you tried any lipsticks from Etude House? If you have please let me know what you thought
