REVIEW | CLINIQUE CHUBBY STICK IN BROADEST BERRY

The Clinique Chubby Sticks have been on all blogger radar and I know I am bit late to jump on the bandwagon. However I finally did and I must say after reading all the review I now understand why everyone loves them so much. The chubby stick that I bought was from the intense moisturising range and in the colour Broadest Berry.

Being on the hunt this year for more light shades of lipsticks I found this shade which falls into the violet colour range. Even though it says violet the colour isn't too over powering and more a nude lip colour for me. You can buy it from any Clinique outlet in Hong Kong and costs HK$160 for a  Chubby Stick.

The packaging is very basic, nothing much to say. It comes in a pencil form that needs to be twisted up to get the product. This is a good thing because you don't need to sharpen it and yo wont be wasting any product in the process.

Clinique says "Tempt lips with a soft cushion of colour that's not quite sheer, not quite opaque-just the perfect happy medium. Loaded with mango and Shea butters so lips feel comfortably soft and smooth" and they are correct when they say that they are really moisturising on the lips.

The lipstick is absolutely smooth and has a creamy texture to it though once I applied it, it felt a bit semi-matte on my lips. I liked that because then it lasts a bit longer. It is easy to use and glides on easily over the lips. You can also line the lips with it as it does have a pointed tip. Which is always handy in case you are someone who needs a guide to apply lipstick.

Even though it felt semi-matte I didn't get a lot of wear time out of it, I would have maybe got between 2-3 hours the most. This could be due to the fact that it is very moisturising on the lips. When I first wore it I was in such a hurry because my hubby was shouting at me as we were late I applied it without a lip balm and did not dry my lips at all. In fact it smoothed and softened it.

Though its supposed to be a happy medium when it comes to colour pay off, for me I felt it was very pigmented and showed on me as it a bit more towards the nude range. It is actually very light and travel friendly which pleasantly surprised me. I am actually waiting to get a few more, though there is only 8 shades in this range.

I like to wear it during a night out as it is a bit more striking and darker on me. Specially if I don't have to dress up, this will instantly lighten up your face.

I am a convert and love the Clinique Chubby Sticks and would definitely recommend this for you guys to try out if you haven't already. Its travel friendly lipstick that is very pigmented and easy to use.

Have you tried these chubby stick? Which ones did you try and what did you think of them?
