I was wondering maybe if you have a function in the day time or even a cocktail what kind of makeup look would go and suddenly it popped into my head, a brown plum smokey eye. its neutral and wearable during the day and wont look too over dressed.

As the base I used the L'Oreal True Match Foundation in Cappuccino and used my Real Techniques Buffing brush to apply the foundation. I then used the Jordana Stick Concealer in Sand under my eyes and around my nose and lips. I set the concealer with the Ben Nye Translucent powder and used the same to set my foundation as my face can get quite oily.

On my brows I used my Etude House Brow Pencil in No 04 and set it with my Rimmel Brow Gel in Dark Brown. That way the brows stay in place and the colour lasts longer.

On my eyes I have to use a primer and my go to is the NYX eye shadow primer in Nude. I then used the PUPA limited edition Pupart Smoky Eye Shadow Palette in Brown. For the liner I used the Kate Tokyo Spider Liner as the tip is so this its very easy to draw a cat eye. The mascara I used was from Jordana as well which was their thickening mascara in Black. I lined my water line with the Clio Gelpresso liner in Black.

The blusher was the from MAC called Love Thing as it is very subtle and can be used during the day as well as the night with a much heavier hand. On the lips was Rimmel from the Kate Collection 107 which is very famous.

I think the look is perfect for work or even a cocktail or a not so formal function. Its subtle and easy to do and the colours are neutral which means it goes with most skin tones as well.

What do you think of my FOTD?  Do you wear smokey eyes to work?

    1. Thank you so much. I am one who loves browns and neutral colours but trying to get out of my comfort zone a bit.
