REVIEW | REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIP GLOSS

Revlon is one of my favourite brands for lip products as they have some good quality lipsticks and lip glosses. Revlon is very affordable and you get good value for money. Hence me buying another lip gloss from them to try out. This time I bought the super lustrous lip glosses. I have the shades Snow Pink (205) and Super Natural (215). Snow Pink is a light champagne coloured lip gloss with a pearl effect and Super Natural is nude pinkish coloured lip gloss with a glossy effect. Super Natural is more like the Revlon Colourburst Lip gloss in Sunbaked, read the review HERE. You can buy the Revlon lip glosses at Watsons or SASA in Hong Kong and cost HK$85 . It comes in a hard transparent plastic round tube with a black twist top. This way you can see the colour without having to open it and test it before you buy it. The applicator for both have doe-foot applicator.

SNOW PINK - 205

Snow Pink has a slight pink tone to it with champagne colour and a pearl effect to it. When I wear it on my lips it looks like I have worn a nude lip gloss with a pearl effect as it does shine a bit. My lips are on the darker side so I always wear this lip gloss over a nude or brown tones lipstick. It adds a little bit of sparkle to the lipstick. The lip gloss isn't very thick in texture but is in between where it's not too thick and not too thin. It does have a glossy finish to it though, that does sparkle because of the pearl effect. The lip gloss is a bit sticky if you wear it alone but as it doesn’t appear well on my lips I pair it with a lipstick. When worn on top of a lipstick the lip gloss makes lips look really glossy and fuller looking. Snow Pink doesn’t feel heavy on the lips and since it more like a clear lip gloss goes with most lipsticks. The lip gloss doesn’t make the lips dry when worn alone or with a lipstick.

 SUPER NATURAL - 215

Super Natural is pink toned nude lip gloss. This lip gloss can be worn alone on my lips and the colour does appear well on me. So I don’t really need to wear this with a lipstick. I prefer to wear lip glosses most of the time alone. I do however wear a lip liner sometimes just to increase the intensity of the lip gloss. Just like Snow Pink this lip gloss also isn't very thick in texture but is in between, where it's not too thick and not too thin. It does have a glossy finish to it. The lip gloss tends to be a bit on the sticky side but isn't that bad and can be managed. The lip gloss doesn’t make the lips dry at all.

Snow Pink doesn’t have very good colour pay off but Super Natural does show well on the lips and I like the colour of the Super Natural lip gloss more than the other. It’s the same story when it comes to colour pay off for me as the lip glosses tend to last much less because I keep biting my lips all the time. When I wear Snow Pink with a lipstick I get a longer wear time out of it. I normally get about a 2 hours of wear time out them which isn't quite long but I like the colours and I always carry them with me to touch up. Since the wand has a doe-foot applicator it's very easy to apply and you can get a precise application and line the lips well with the applicator. I wear the Super Natural colour much more often than the Snow Pink.  With both lip glosses I didn’t notice them bleeding and going all over lips.

I would definitely repurchase the Super Natural lip gloss as I prefer this colour over the other. I would definitely recommend this lip gloss range from Revlon as they do have a good selection of colours and colours that would suit most skin tones. Snow Pink would show more colour maybe on a lighter skin toned person so if you are lighter than me then give it a try and see if you like it.

Let me know if you have ever tried these lip glosses I would love to know what you think of them

  1. The colours are so pretty! But for what I see on the pictures I think I would use them on top of a lipstick! :D
