Next on the list is the heart shape face. I thought I will show the basic of contour and highlight that is ideal for heart shaped faces. I hope everyone can learn something even if you are an advanced makeup applicator or a novice at applying makeup.

The heart shape face has a broad, wide and flat forehead, the hairline much more forward than any other face shape, the jawline is very narrow and the chin is quite long, pointed and very prominent.

Contouring is mainly to hide, slim or lengthen the facial structure through the use of makeup. Highlighting on the other hand is to draw attention, improve a flat area on the face (nose) and enhance the overall features of the face. It's like giving a three dimension aspect to your face.

Contouring needs to be done in the center of the hairline to give the effect of receded hairline. Since the chin is very pointed you need to make it look shorter and contour the chin as well.

Since the face is very narrow you need to highlight the top of the cheek bones to broaden the face and give it a fuller look. You can also highlight the sides of your cheek as well if you like.

The main aim of contour and highlight is to ensure your face is symmetrical. Since most of aren't privileged with perfect features I sure am not lucky with perfect features, we can artificially achieve these with makeup making them look as if we naturally have these features.

I hope you long shaped girls learned something new. Let me know how you contour or highlight. I would love to know if you follow these steps of if you follow something else. Either way let me know.
