REVIEW: SOOTHE EYEBROW PENCILS

Eyebrows shape your whole face and play a big role in shaping your face and enhancing your features. You need to have a shape that suits your face so you need to be careful when shaping them. As much as it is important to have a good shape it is also important to have an eyebrow pencil to fill in the brows to complete the look. Many of us are not as lucky enough to have thick perfect eyebrows so we need to compensate by using eyebrow pencils to fill them in to create the illusion of fuller eyebrows. You need to make sure you match your eyebrow pencil to your hair colour or some like to match it to the colour of their eyebrows. I personally try to match my hair colour most of the time by always using a dark brown brow pencil and I sometimes mix it with a black brow pencil. The black brow pencil is a bit too dark to use alone as it makes the eyebrows look unnatural.

Brown Pencil #540 and the Black Pencil is #520

Soothe is a brand that you can purchase in Hong Kong and they have brow pencils that is easy to match if you have a darker skin tone. I purchased both the brown and black brow pencils. The brow pencils cost around HK$20 each and can be purchased at any local  Bonjour shop. The eyebrow pencils come with a small brow spoolie on the lids which is a good addition so you don’t  have to have another tool on hand to brush your eyebrows through, which is also makes it very travel friendly. The packaging is very basic nothing to talk much about, the pencils look just like a regular eyebrow pencil. You need to sharpen the pencil every time the tips get blunt, however you do need to be careful while sharpening the pencils because the tips tend to break off sometimes. The pigmentation and colour payoff is extremely good. The texture of the product is creamy and smooth yet not too creamy so that the colour doesn’t last long enough. The texture is just right that you can apply the product  with ease and don’t need to use a heavy hand. I usually fill the brows and then use the spoolie side to brush the product through to make the brows look more natural and like I have naturally full eyebrows. You do however need to be careful when using the brow pencil as it can make the brows look very dark and artificial so use light strokes when using the pencil. The wear time for me was around 3-4 hours as I do have oily skin but I use a clear brow gel to set the product in place after I have fill my eyebrows and that prolongs the wear time of the product to around 5-6 hours.

L to R Brown and Black

Overall I would say this is a good budget friendly product to have as an addition in your collection as it has good colour payoff, travel friendly and inexpensive. What do you use to fill in your brows? is a brow pencil or powder, let me know what you use.
