REVIEW: MYBELLINE COLORsensational CREAM GLOSS

Lip glosses and I don’t exactly tend to get on very well as they don’t seem to last long my lips. I do however wear a few glosses over my lipsticks just to jazz them up a bit if the lipstick colours look a bit dull. Lip glosses do have their benefits and are very popular today.

Lip gloss is mainly used to highlight your lips and emphasise a lipstick colour. The sparkle effect in certain glosses make the lipstick look more appealing.

Lip glosses help to moisturize and hydrate your lips because of the ingredients such as Vitamin E, Aloe Vera and Glycerine. Certain lip glosses have oils in them that nourish the lips which is an additional benefit.

Lip gloss can be a part of your daily makeup routine in place of lipstick in case you don’t like bold, strong colours. Lip glosses tend to be much lighter they make for a softer pleasing look.

You need to be careful though as certain lip glosses can dry your lips out. You need to choose a lip gloss that will suit your skin and one that wouldn’t harm it.

MAYBELLINE COLORsesnsational CREAM GLOSS

From L to R - Naked star, Coffee Kiss, Stellar Berry

Maybelline is a brand that is identified for their good quality products that are affordable. They are famous for their mascaras. I love their lip glosses as much as I love their mascaras. I have three of their cream glosses in 610 Naked Star, 360 Stellar Berry, 630 Coffee Kiss. I wear the lip glosses over a lipstick as I have a tendency to bite my lips so because of that the glosses don’t last long. In Hong Kong you can buy them at your local SASA and they cost around 80HK$.

NAKED STAR
A light cream colour when worn alone gives a slight colour to the lips. If you don’t like lip glosses that are highly pigmented then this would be the colour to choose. It's very subtle and even when worn under a brown or nude lipstick doesn’t make the colour too bright. The lip gloss does have a sparkle effect to them which makes the lip shine, I quite like that specially if I am wearing them in the night. It has a honey nectar flavour to it with a slight fruity smell. It does however have a sticky feeling if worn a lone which I didn’t much care for.

STELLAR BERRY
This is my favourite out of the three colours. It's very pigmented and emphasises the lipstick colour. Even when you wear it alone the colour can be seen. I mainly wear it with brown lipsticks to bring out the colour. It's got a slight red undertone to it. It has a honey nectar flavour to it with a slight fruity smell. COFFEE KISS
As the name suggests it is a lip gloss that is brown in colour and has a brown under tone to it. It does up on bare lips but I prefer to wear it with a lipstick. It has a honey nectar flavour to it with a slight fruity smell. The lip glosses when worn a lone didn’t have a good wear time for me but if unlike me you don’t bite your lips I'm sure you can have them on for longer. They are very light in consistency and has a cream texture to it. I don’t however like the sticky feeling it gives to the lips when alone. With a lipstick as a base they lasted much longer and made my lips look a bit fuller and shinier and I liked that. The applicator is doe foot applicator and is easy to apply. I would say they are quite a good selection of nude/brown lip glosses and would go with most skin tones but I like how they suit my skin colour and stand out even when wear them alone as I am more on the darker side. It is quite difficult to find brown toned lip glosses that suit me so I was very pleased with these gloss colours.

Have you ever tried these lip glosses? Let me know what you thought of them.
