URBAN DECAY MAKEUP SETTING SPRAYS

I double that I could have gone through the summer without my setting sprays, they were my saving grace for someone whose face becomes oily within a few hours. The humidity is something that I cant stand because the minute I step out I can feel my makeup starting to melt so I have to have a secret weapon on hand to make it through the hot summer here in Hong Kong.

URBAN DECAY MAKEUP SETTING SPRAYS

Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray

As you can see they both come in very sleek looking, travel friendly packaging so its easy to just chuck it in your bag or makeup pouch, either way your good to go. I bought the smaller sizes or the travel friendly sizes because I have them in my makeup kit always so I can use them on my clients. I bought the All Nighter from Sephora when I was in the US last year and it was $20 and I bought De-Slick from Mecca last December when I was in Melbourne, sorry I cant remember how much it was. The pumps of the bottles are actually is pretty good, the mist comes out evenly, just one to two pumps is more than enough for the whole face. I like to use it after I have finished all my makeup and the best part is that doesn't makeup my eyeliner runny.

All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

This one is just fabulous, I have had so many clients message me and ask me what I used on them as they were so impressed, so I would definitely say this is a winner and a MUST have in your makeup collection. As I mentioned before once I have done the makeup I spray a pump or two and give it about a minute to set and dry up and then believe me when I say your makeup will not budge. I used this when I went for a concert and when I came out after the concert my makeup was still in tact. I have used it on pretty hot and humid days and I must say I was impressed, my concealer had not creased and I have very oily skin. My blush was still visible and it looked like I still had foundation on, so this is definitely my favourite setting spray at the moment. I cant imagine summer without it but of course you could wear it all year round and it definitely is long lasting.

De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray

I know Urban Decay is known for amazing quality when it comes to their products so don't get me wrong when I say I didn't really like this setting spray. I mainly bought it because it was for oil control, so I thought this should help me since I have oily skin. However if I am being completely honest it didn't do anything to control my oiliness specially in my t-zone, it did keep my makeup in place though just like the All Nighter. Like always my skin was relatively shiny within a few hours after doing makeup so it really didn't control any oil in my face. Sadly I didn't feel or see any difference so I would suggest just sticking to the All Nighter. This could also be because of my skin type so it doesn't mean that just because it didn't work for me that it wont work for you.

My recommendation would definitely be the All Nighter, it really did impress me and my clients and it will keep your makeup in place all day and night. I will definitely be repurchasing this once my one runs out. Have you tried any of the Urban Decay Makeup Setting Sprays? Which one was your favourite? Let me know in the comments below.

NOTD | REVLON REBEL GRAFFITI

Glitter is something I tend to stay from as it can be quite cumbersome and a pain when you have to remove it and mix that combination with nail polish and you end up tugging and tired trying to remover the glitter nail polish. However while I was doing a bit of shopping at my local beauty store I was just curious and wanted to try out a glitter polish that cross my eyes, it was the Revlon Rebel Graffiti and I bought it for HK$29.

REVLON REBEL GRAFFITI

REVLON REBEL GRAFFITI NAIL POLISH

This glitter polish needed to be worn over another dark nail polish for it to show up and be prominent. The glitter is a mix of black and white specs that I had to apply at least two coats of for it to be noticeable. The finish look kind of reminds me of black and white polka dots and I quite like it. I am a big fan of polka dots so this was just up my alley.

As a change to my usual plain nail polish I just wanted to add a bit of texture and change things up a bit and this polish was the best way to do it. I am not really good at DIY nail art so this is the next best thing. They dry up pretty fast and just two coats is more than enough. The application is pretty easy and the brush is easy to use and manoeuvre around the nail. Its the usual wear time for me which is usually 2-3 days with slight chipping. The nail polish does dry up pretty fast and there is no waiting around forever for them to dry up.

Do you like glitter polish? What do you think of my NOTD for this week? Is it something you will be trying out yourself? Let me know in the comment box below.

NOTD | TOPSHOP BRUTAL

Plums, reds, maroons are my go to when it comes to lips and nails so it was only natural that I was drawn to Topshop Brutal nail polish. Its a perfect plum and with winter just around the corner I think it will make a great nail colour for the season. I bought this with another polish as there was an offer in Topshop here in Hong Kong where you can buy two nail polishes for HK$99.

TOPSHOP BRUTAL

TOPSHOP BRUTAL MATTE NAIL POLISH

I am just absolutely in love with this shade, its quite different to what I usually have in my collection and it being matte kind of makes the nail polish look even better at least I feel it does. I like how the finish looks on my nails, it matte but not too overly matte at the same time if you know what I mean. The brush is quite nice and makes applying the polish on the nails pretty easy. I did have to apply two coats as it looked nice and bright with two coats.

The polish dries up pretty fast making the waiting far less than most nail polishes. Its the usual wear time for me which is usually 2-3 days with slight chipping. Even though its a matte finish it kind of has a slight sheen or glossy effect making the matte stand out even more and I quite like that, its not the typical shiny finish.

What do you think of my NOTD this week? Have you tried any matte nail polishes? Let me know in the comment box below.

FOTD | MAKEUP & FACE PAINT MAKEUP LOOK

I recently joined a company as a freelance face painter and I have been really enjoying my work. I love working with kids and listening to their endless stories. Recently I had to take head shots for work so I thought I will share the makeup look I created on that day.

A MAKEUP AND FACE PAINT MAKEUP LOOK

I have really been enjoying getting a bit more creative and exploring a different side of my creative side. Face painting has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and I am really enjoying it.

FACE

NYX Dark Circle Corrector - Deep
To conceal the dark circles just under the eyes
NYX HD Concealer - Nutmeg
I applied this every where that needed a bit of extra coverage
Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Concealer - Dark
I applied this as a highlighter
Ben Ne Banana Powder
I used this to set the concealer
MAC Careblend Pressed Powder
I used this all over the face to set all the makeup

EYES

Colour Pop Jenn Ne Sais Quoi Palette - Shades UN and Quatre
I blended these two shade onto the eyelid to create the eye makeup
MAC Eye Shadow - Shroom
I used this under the brow bone and in the inner corners of the eyes.
Kiko Milano Liquid Eyeliner
I used this to create the cat-eye
 Clio gelpresso Gel Eyeliner
I used this on the waterline
Benefit They're Real Mascara
I curled my lashes using my Shu Uemura Lash Curler and then applied two coats of the mascara onto the lashes

BROWS

Etude House Brow Pencil
I used this to shape and fill the brows

CHEEKS

MAC Mineralized Blush - Love Thing
I applied this on the apples of the cheeks
The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzing Powder
I used this to contour the cheeks, forehead and chins

LIPS

Milani Lipstick - Cabaret Blend
I didn't line the lip I just applied a lip balm and then applied the lipstick on top of the lip m straight from the tube

FACE PAINT

Face Slap Face Paint
I used these paint to create the creative face paint for the shoot

The whole makeup look turned out way better than I expected and the face painting came added a bit of extra to complete the look for my head shots. I am definitely going to recreate this look without the face painting bit obviously but the face paint would be a great Halloween makeup look since its right around the corner. What did you think of my dramatic smokey eye makeup look? is it a good FOTD for any occasion? Let me know what you think in the comment box below.
